Mount Bonnell / Covert Park

This is one of the prettiest views in Austin. We've been here lots of times, but it's been a while:

Liz says she's going to be a brain surgeon and get a fancy mansion like the ones on Lake Travis.

He was mad at me because I said it was time to go. "I was enjoying the view!"
Since we were in the neighborhood, we also waved hello to the peacocks at Mayfield Park:

Lake Plugerville

They completely shut down Lake Pflugerville for 2 months to prevent overcrowding, but they reopened the trails last week.
We found these cool rocks that someone had painted and left:
(We didn't take them.)

The kids apparently named the ducks. One is Elizabeth Swann, another is Scrooge McDuck...

Twin Falls / Barton Springs

Owen got walkie talkies for his birthday

We found dozens of this tiny frogs.

The kids decided it would be fun to catch a bunch of the mini frogs.

They were able to collect 15 before Mom told them to let them all go free.
(Liz tried to sneak one home in a water bottle, but no dice. #MomHasEyesOnTheBackOfHerHead)

Our Week (05/24 - 05/30)

On the last day of school, there was a drive-by parade so that the kids could say bye to their teachers. We made posters:

Mrs. Sims (All three kids had her in 1st grade)
Mrs. Tolentino (Both Heidi and Owen had her for kindergarten)
Ms. Corey (Liz had her for 3rd grade last year)

William gave himself a haircut this week. Scott gave him a buzz cut to try and even it out, but you can still see a few spots.
Even William is getting in on the Zoom action. He had his "preschool graduation" this week.
William made a birdfeeder
Owen chose McDonald's Happy Meals for his birthday dinner.
7 years old and a 2nd grader now!

In the morning the kids like to chase the rainbow light on our wall.
We watched the SpaceX launch on Saturday! (The black dots are dead spots. We got this TV back in 2011, and the kids touched it too much when they were little and killed the pixels. Usually we keep this TV out in the garage.)

Berry Springs Again

We went back, because when we went a few weeks ago William didn't have shoes. So this time we got to explore a bit more:
Something you can do with a giant stump... turn it into a bench. (We have one in our backyard.)
Liz found this mushroom.
The spring water is really clear, so you can easily see to the bottom. We saw lots of fish.
And butterflies. (Can you spot it?)

Emma loved the "gonkey."
