Heidi's Week with Grandma and Grandpa Ellsworth

Heidi spent six days with Grandma and Grandpa Ellsworth and had a lot of fun. Instead of captioning all the pictures, I'll let you read about it at the bottom. ;)

Day 1 (Sunday):
Church (Gr, Gr, Allison and me)
Made Pop-up cards with Aunt Allison
Went to Browns with Allison and had lunch there
Made cookies (no-bakes)
Sunday Dinner
Drove to the Gilbert Temple
Retired the flag with Grandpa (all week)
Scorpion hunting with Grandpa

Day 2:
Morning run w/Allison
Tied a quilt
Taco Bell lunch
Tried her first apple fritter
Help clean Rachel’s house
Visit from Grandpa and Lou
Pizza dinner
Tried her first artichoke heart
Read books w/Allison
Scorpion hunting (4)

Day 3:
Hike with Allison
Helped paint Grandpa’s trailer
Religion class online with Grandpa
Read Shiloh Season/took a nap
Ice cream cone with Grandpa from McDonalds
Helped make chicken pockets

Ate pizookies w/Allison
Watched a movie (7 Brides for 7 Brothers)

Day 4:
Planned and started sewing an apron
Baked a chocolate cake
Solved a mind teaser puzzle
Went to Arby’s with Grandpa
Made another pop-up card

Day 5:
Finished the apron
Watched a funeral online
Visited with Dad when he came to see us
Watched “Little House on the Prairie”
Went to Goodwill With Grandpa and found Felicia (stuffed animal)
Filled the cake layers with ice cream
Ate fried chicken and Mac n’ cheese (drank Big Red soda)

Day 6:
Bottled 7 pints of chicken
Played with 3 cousins (Kristi)
Finished and ate the ice cream cake
Ran an errand with Allison
Took some selfies
Decorated the picture frame

Day 7:

Helped make breakfast

Packed

Played 20 questions

Left for home around noon

Our Week (07/12 - 07/18)

Mostly geocaching pics this week:

We found one geocache in downtown Manor. It's kind of an iconic location because the movie What's Eating Gilbert Grape? was filmed here.

William and I went to run a quick errand, and William really wanted to find a geocache.

The first one didn't have any trinkets, so we looked for a second one.

If you look really closely, maybe you can spot the first-ever geocache that we hid near a neighborhood park.

Liz decided to turn her afghan into a tunic

Brushy Creek near the Round Rock

We went back again so we could take pics with the wagon ruts for Instagram challenge. (We won a free froyo.) Historically, this is where cattle herders crossed the creek on their way from the Rio Grande to the cattle markets in Kansas. You can see the wagon ruts, dating back to the 19th century, carved into the limestone creek bed.

We were going to feed the ducks, but the sign said not to give them bread. So we ate the bread instead, lol.

We saw several turtles hanging out on the floating doghouse in the background.

Liz named this guy Bill. He walked right up to her and talked her ear off. She made up a life story for him.

We found a geocache here.

When we get more rain, this normally would be a creek. It was kind of cool to see what it looks like when it's empty. I took a picture because I thought it was interesting to see the horizontal roots and how far they extend.
