Halloween Fun

Heidi was in the kindergarten storybook parade at school today:

 Doesn't Owen look cool in his shades? He also has an awesome bomber jacket, but I made him take it off because it was 80 degrees today.

 While the girls were at school, I took Owen to a fun fall festival for preschoolers. It was very popular, so we did a lot of waiting in line:

The girls decorated pumpkins for a school contest. They did all by themselves, without any help. Lizzie did Harry Potter...

 ...And Heidi did Jessie from Toy Story. Heidi won 3rd place for "Most Creative."

First Airplane Ride

He did great! He only cried for about 5 minutes and then slept the rest of the time, both times.

College Shirt Wednesdays

The kids are encouraged to wear college shirts to school on Wednesdays, so here they all are, decked out in their Sun Devils shirts:

Last night was our ward's Halloween party, with a chili dinner and Trunk or Treat:

Changing

This kid is growing and changing so fast! 

William got his 2 bottom teeth a little bit ago, and now his top teeth are coming in. (He's been extra fussy and needy because of it. And he isn't sleeping through the night anymore.) :(

At the start of the week, William was sitting like this--leaning on one arm for support...

...And yesterday he learned how to go from lying to sitting without any help or support. (It still kinda freaks me out when I find him sitting up in his crib because I'm not used to it yet.)

The art teacher put up this mosaic in the halls at school this week. We had fun finding Lizzie's and Heidi's contributions.

Happy Birthday!... Oh wait.

Heidi came home today with a birthday crown. Her teacher thought that her birthday was October 17 instead of November 17. (Apparently, her teacher got mixed up and wrote it down wrong on their classroom calendar. For weeks now, they've been counting down to Heidi's "birthday" every morning during circle time.) So for the past month, Heidi has been asserting at home that it's almost her birthday. We kept correcting her, but I guess she didn't believe us. (Her teacher knows more about these kinds of things than we do, I guess.) She even convinced her Primary leaders that it's her birthday this week. We finally cleared it all up, but still... kinda funny.

Rodent problem?

...Nope. An Owen problem. (I went to the bathroom and was gone for just a minute, and Owen managed to take the cheese out of the fridge, unwrap it, carve out two really big bites, and leave it on the couch.)

Pflugerville Pfall Chili Pfest

This kid was WIPED OUT for the entire second half of the day. Maybe he's coming down with something.

They had bouncy houses and a petting zoo.

Austin Humane Society

Today the AHS was having a "100 Happy Homes Challenge." Their goal was to adopt out 100 pets, so they threw a big party. We went and checked it out.

The highlight for the kids was meeting the firefighters and getting a tour of the fire truck. Heidi even got to turn on the lights.
