Angry Selfie

Every so often my camera goes missing and then I find it later in some random location in the house with several dozen random pictures on the SD card. This time the culprit was Heidi, and this was my favorite of the 44 pictures that she took:

2 Weeks Old

William is actually 3 weeks now, but the picture is from a week ago. At his 2-week check up he weighed 8 lb 5 oz and measured 22 inches long. That's close to 50th percentile for weight but somewhere in the 90s for height. The doctor said that usually babies have lost weight and are back to their birth weight by two weeks. William weighed 7 lb 5 oz at birth, so he's gained it all back plus an extra pound. He is a good eater! (Maybe a little too good. Mommy is tired from having to feed him every 2 hours.) But we love him and are glad he's healthy. :)

San Antonio Trip

Scott had to go to San Antonio on a business trip this week, so we tagged along:

First we stopped in San Marcos and took a glass-bottomed boat tour of Spring Lake. It was super cool. (We didn't get many pictures, though, because Emily had her hands full trying to keep William happy.) This picture is of a 350-year-old cypress tree at the docks.

Our first night in San Antonio there was a crazy hail storm. It sounded like someone was throwing big rocks at our hotel window. The hail ripped up the window screens pretty bad, a bunch of car alarms went off in the parking lot,and the hood of our van is covered in dozens of little dents. (But we feel lucky that it wasn't worse!) According to the news, the hail stones were 2 to 4 inches in diameter.

One day we had lunch at Rainforest Cafe on the Riverwalk. Heidi was terrified of the animatronic gorillas at first (you can see one in the background), but overall she had a good time.

And of course we had to say hello to our friend Stumpy. (It's our tradition every time we visit Downtown San Antonio.) Lizzie even told him a funny knock-knock joke about an interrupting cow and made him laugh. :)
