Our Week (11/03 - 11/16)

Destination Imagination: doing an instant challenge at our first team practice
At Costco. This is how William eats pizza: he takes off the cheese and pepperoni, and just eats the crust with the sauce.
For Heidi's birthday, she and her two friends went to lunch and to Mount Playmore. (This is the hand sanitizer machine at Might Fine Burgers--kind of a novelty, lol.)
Heidi loved her cookies and cream shake with a burger and fries. (Voted best burger in Austin.)

At Mount Playmore. Weird place to take a pic, but hey.

At another friend's birthday party, petting their dog Jade.

Our Week (10/27 - 11/02)

Monday was the 50th day of school. I thought Owen's picture of himself at age 50 was pretty funny (glasses, mustache, and crazy long goatee!).
It was spirit week at school, so they dressed up for their future careers one day. Liz is going to be a surgeon, Owen a pilot, and Heidi a scientist.
Storybook characters: Hermione, a ninja, and Maleficent. (I wish we hadn't run out of duct tape--the horns would have been much cooler if I had more duct tape to work with.)
 Our Halloween dinner:
Spiders
Ghosts
Vampire teeth
Mummies
Next year we'll have to try these ^
Trick or Treating with Rose

I messed up and didn't get a pic of Heidi's team, but here's Lizzie's team: the Tigers.
They took 4th place out of 4 teams in the tournament, lol.

Our Week (10/20 - 10/26)

We had first quarter froyo with our friends, the Carrs. They are moving to Connecticut. :( They taught Primary to both Heidi and Owen over several years, Scott and Nick served in Young Men together, and Emily was Nicole's visiting teacher (before they did away with visiting teaching.)
I sent William to take a nap, and when I went to check on him he was all dressed up in his swim suit and goggles. ???
Baton Rouge Temple Open House
Heidi was cold, and therefore grumpy.
Emma turned 1 and celebrated with ice cream cake.

This was just a silly photo bomb. (We bought flan from a friend in the ward and wanted to send her a picture.)

Our Week (10/06 - 10/19)

At the orthodontist office. Heidi brought a friend along.
Playing dress up at playgroup.
Can you guess which Come Follow Me lesson this was?
For Columbus Day we went to Mammoth National Park in Waco:
There's a yellow line on the pole. That's how tall mammoths were. (And they weighed as much as a school bus.)
Not a great picture--but you can kind of see the remains.
Emma was practicing her walking.
Scientists' best guess is that the herd of mammoths died in a flash flood. There's a mural in the background of what likely happened. They also found evidence of a camel and a saber tooth tiger. You can read more here.
Life size painting of a Columbian mammoth. (Named after Christopher Columbus!)

Afterwards we had a picnic on the Brazos River:

You can see Baylor's football stadium in the background.
Suspension Bridge near downtown Waco. It's supposed to close for repairs and renovations in December, so it's good we got to see it when we did.

The kids had first quarter awards assemblies this week:

AND we went to the ward party:
Owen is not pictured because he was at football practice.
Liz and her vampire friend Anna
Heidi and her dementor friend Rose
Owen's football team
Video of Emma learning to walk. These were taken a week ago, so she's gotten better since then:
