Ward Christmas Party

Can you spot us? It's kind of like Where's Waldo. :)
(24 weeks pregnant)

Owen wanted nothing to do with Santa.
Merry Christmas! (Or as Lizzie reminds us: Happy Hannukah! Happy Kwanzaa! I think it's pretty funny when she goes around saying that to people. That's what you get when you send your kid to a public school in a liberal city that stresses multicultural education.)

Tuppence a Bag

We've been hanging out at the park a lot lately. Emily's favorite park is at Mueller Lake. (The playground is enclosed so the children can't escape--for the most part.) There are lots of birds, so we took some bird seed with us the other day.
We wanted to feed the ducks...
...But then the pigeons got the memo and showed up first. (Icky pigeons.)

Picture Update

It's been a while, so here are a few pictures. With the exception of the last one (Lizzie's school picture), these were taken by JC Penney as a birthday gift to me. (Yay for Groupon.)
Heidi is on her tippy toes. She was slouching, so Mom told her to "stand up tall"!

Not the best picture of Owen, but the kid didn't want to cooperate (which is why Emily is holding him).
Her hair's a mess, but she's six and her hair is always a mess except for about 2 minutes each morning. What can you do?

San Antonio

On Wednesday we took a trip to San Antonio. (Emily stayed behind to pick up Aunt Sarah from the airport and get some grading done.) Stops include the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and Buc-ee's (a really big gas station with lots of food and stuff).

Grandpa Miller and Grandma Lu

Grandpa Miller and Grandma Lu came to visit for Thanksgiving. They got here on Tuesday night. We had a backyard BBQ and just played, read books, etc.

School Lunch

Parents were invited to join their kids for a Thanksgiving meal at lunch today:
Liz takes her lunch every day because of her food allergies.
(Of course, Heidi and Owen preferred the bean burritos over the turkey dinner.)
I have to say here that I really do do Lizzie's hair every morning. She told me here that her friend Natalie gave her a rubber band, so she did the little side ponytail herself.
Selfie!

Party Time!

Well, Heidi's birthday party was a success. It was our first time hosting a "friends" party. There were 8 kids and 5 adults that came (plus our family, which translates to 18 people). The guests of honor were Heidi's Primary teacher, Sister Ellertson, and Jessie from Toy Story.
We downed 5 Little Caesar's pizzas...

...with cupcakes and ice cream.
Then we played Duck Duck Goose...
...and Red Light, Green Light.
One of the Laurels from our ward dressed up as Jessie, thanks to Grandma Baker. The kids loved it!

Heidi got adorable matching butterfly costumes for herself and her doll, plus lots of fun Jessie-themed gifts.
