Vegas Trip - Day 2 (Fire Wave and Freemont Street)

Day 2 started with a hearty breakfast at Mr. Mama's Diner, followed by a really beautiful hike at Valley of Fire State Park:

This was supposed to be a Star Wars pose: holding the canyon walls open, lol.

We saw a mountain goat as we were leaving.

The hike was only about 2 miles long, but it took several hours because (a) we took about a million pictures, and (b) we got lost a few times. Towards the end, a few of us were a little grumpy, lol.
From there we went to lunch at Tacos El Gordo. It was legit Mexican food. The consensus was that this was the best food of the entire trip:
Chopping the carne asada
Preparing tortillas from scratch
You can see the al pastor pork hanging in the background. They just cut it right off the shoulder onto your taco.
Eating our yummy tacos and carne asada fries back at the Airbnb.
That evening we visited the Downtown Container Park and Freemont Street. (After the fact, we learned that it's not a good idea to visit Freemont Street after dark because all the weirdos come out. Oops.)

The preying mantis's antennae spit fire every 15 minutes or so, choreographed to music.
As we walked up, some guy was getting detained by security.
Dinner at Evel Pie (That's a statue of Evel Knievel in the background.)

I found a Buc-ee's sticker. (Nor likes to make fun of my family's Buc-ee's obsession.)
That's a scale. Our collective weight is almost 700 pounds. This restaurant is themed like a hospital because their burgers will give you a heart attack. All the patrons wear hospital gowns, and the waitresses dress like nurses. We didn't eat there, but it was a head turner.

Watching the Viva Vision Light Show on the ceiling. It's the largest video screen in the world. They played Imagine Dragon's "Radioactive" while we were there.

Do you see Darth Vader in the background? (We were trying to get a pic without having to tip the guy.)
On our way home that night we picked up some Pinkbox Donuts for Sunday breakfast.
